HDV render error

I'm trying to render a project using the HDV 1080-60i setting, but it keeps stopping before it's finished with an unknown error message. Both times I've tried it's stopped when the file size gets to 2,826,513 KB. I've got over 200 gigs free on the hard drive. Any ideas? Anyone else run into anything like this?

Thanks,
Bryce

Where is your temp set to? Swap file pointed to?

Temp is set to a sub folder of Documents and Settings on my :C drive (26 gigs free). Swap file is set to a minimum of 1536 and max of 3072 - also on the C: drive.

Thius may be an issue with a particular set of events on the timeline. Although rare - some odd set of FX settings and/or the format of some clips can cause such a render problem.

But... how to find out what is causing it?

Just a suggestion. Render to DV AVI and see if it crashes also. If it does... then you will find the AVI file is complete up until the frame that caused the problem. Load this back into the original projet ona track above and you will then see exactly where the problem occurs. While you may not know WHY it fails at that point... at least you know where to concentrate your efforts.

It may be possible to load the particlaly completed HDV render instead of rendering to DV AVI... but I am unsure if the HDV format works in the same way.

Thanks - I didn't try rendering to an AVI yet, but I have rendered it to mpeg2 with the DVD Architect NTSC setting without a hitch.

Make sure your CPU is not overheating.

Yeah, I wonder if it could be cpu overheating. Although would be strange that it overheats in the exact same spot every time? Any recomendations on a good app to test cpu temp? I Also tried rendering a shorter section around the area that it stops and it got though it fine - so I don't think anything on the timeline is causing it to stop.
