If it is complete you can just nest the veg file in the new project.

And yes, you can save it as an avi, but you can also save it as an mpg and if you are not doing anything else to it, it will not suffer any quality loss as it will "smart render".

Hi i tend to render as a mt2 file rather than avi,
the main reason behind this is avi can be very large file,

plus vegas seems to handle edits much better with that format for me,
but i am working in PAL land,but nesting is another good way of
working with the files,

all depends on what your doing if your using lots of fx or transitions
then render it down,

just have to be careful with the interlace settings when loading in with other files
