HDV test

I have shot some footage with the Sony HDV camera but all in standard definition. I want to try out the camera in its HD resolution. If i record on MiniDV tape how do i transfer the fooatge to my computer? Can i sue the camera as the deck? Can i just hook up FireWire and b raedy to digitize?

Use the cam as a deck, you'll need to be sure you've got your system set up with the correct Sony DVHS drivers. They're on your 'puter, but they might not be enabled.

Capture into Vegas 6, or use Connect HD, or use CapDVHS. All 3 will work great for HDV capture.
