HDV Work Flow Questions

I am an HDV Newbie. I just got an HC1. I'm using Vegas 5.

From what I've picked up reading this forum, I want to film in HD, capture and edit and output a version in DV for DVD's, and then print to tape and HDV Master.

I'm confused about what plugins I'll need. I've heard of cineform, gearshift, HDVSplit, and capDVHS. Which will give the best results?

David,
you should upgrade to Vegas 6. It comes with everything you need to capture, edit and transfer hdv back to the camera (or render in many different formats).
Vegas 5 can not capture nor convert HDV to an intermediate format. Also Vegas 5 can not handle the color space of HDV which is different from SD.
