I would caution on this.

Sure they can read most red laser discs. but anything they write appears to only be read on their equipment. Hardly a standard.

I would be interested in some third party validation tests of their claims.

it's interesting that companies are putting research in to competitors to the two "big guns" but to what avail? Without the big manufacturers behind them...they'll only struggle. Even Nero, with their already-existing hardware/software support, isn't really gaining the traction they thought they'd get, and theirs is a wonderful codec/product.
