Head Select fault

Has anyone had a problem with burning double-layer DVDs with DVDA, please?

I successfully burned the first one but, thereafter have been getting a error message, quoting the drive make and a problem in module "sfmmcx.cpp, line 2240" claiming that there was a 'head select fault'

...after which, it may have written the disc but without my intro track... or may have left the new disc entirely blank.

Also, on one occasion, the written disc would play on my PC but not on my DVD player.

As far as I can tell, I dont have a faulty drive, because it reads all kinds of discs properly and can write/rewrite ordinary 4.7Gb discs.

The PC is only a month or two old and hasn't turned up any other problems.

Any guidance/advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Martin C

Hopefully someone else will post that burns DL in DVDA... If not, & in case it helps, posted an alternative routine not long ago in another thread...

Essentially you create your DVD in DVDA, render to hdd, then using PgcEdit & Imgburn, or ImgBurn alone, set the layer break & burn to disc. Won't cure your problem, but perhaps avoid it.
