Oh - that's a shame - I've been looking for the opposite - to change ipod files to "normal" audio. I tried four different trial versions, all of which claimed they did just this, but they all threw up the message "You need iTunes software to access these files."
Sorry - didn't mean to hi-jack, Leslie, but has anyone had success doing this?
Peter,
Regarding changing iTunes audio files to "normal" audio files: I use iTunes for almost everything, but my kids have cheap media players so I need mp3 or wma versions. I believe all new iTunes purchases don't have DRM on them, but many of my old ones did.
For the new, non-DRM iTunes files, you can use Nero to "Convert Audio Files" (Nero>Smart Start>Create & Edit>Convert Audio Files).
For the older DRM iTunes audio files, I had to burn to CD's, then rip and tag the audio files into mp3/wma versions.
I use wma convert it will extract maost all DRM protected files as long as you still have the software/programs that originaly played them. I have many .rax files from Rhapsody tht i purchased a while back before they drop the DRM crap. so i have used that to transoce those and some wma files to high Q mp3's.
