Hello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to do the following things in Vegas Video 5.

An effect to make the whole screen look as if it is shaking. how to zoom in on the video in certain parts of the video. Any ways to make words shake, drop, zoom, any effects like that, and lastly, anyway to make the screen look as if it is breaking, such as glass, or anything like that. Thanks for reading, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Woah, that's quite a list of different things for one question! Luckily, it can all be done.

To zoom in or move around a picture, you have two choices: pan/crop which affects a single event or track motion which affects a whole track at once(to do a cropped picture in picture you have to use both). Track motion can also do 3D motions. Pan/crop is accessed by clicking on the little square icon on the left side of any video clip on the timeline. Track motion can be found as one of the buttons on the left side of the track where the track's name is.

Both of these items are keyframable, so if you want to shake, you can do it with a bunch of keyframes manually. Also, there are scripts available to do this for you, but I think they might be part of a third party pack you have to purchase. Any else remember those topics better?

For breaking screens and extra 3D effects like that, you need Wax 2.0, which can be downloaded for FREE at www.debugmode.com. It's a very nice little plug-in especially considering the price. That site also has a free frameserver and morph program. All of them integrate well into Vegas.

I knew they could all be done, because I saw a video that absolutely amazed me, which is what brought me to purchase Vegas. :) I will try these, and post back, WHEN I run into problems :P Thanks.

I got everything, except for the screen shaking, could someone possible run me through on how to do it exactly?

Do a forum search for "Vegas Quake." It's a script that will do just what you want. Very handy too! :)

Awesome, Thanks!

Another question. How do you make a video zoom in, going through the action, so you can actually SEE it zooming in. I'm guessing that has something to do with the keyframe, similar to the shake, which I'm not sure how to do, but I got the Earthquake script working though. :)

Oh, also, no one said anything about the letters dropping/zooming/etc in, and out, or whatever I want them to do. If I'm too much of a bother, that's okay. I can try and figure it out by myself, but any help is welcomed.

You can do the letters 2 ways. Both are in the media generators, which are a tab along the bottom of the screen. One media generator just makes text, but you can add outlines and shadows which are nice. Another one is used for credits and will do scrolling credits, fade in, fade out, etc automatically, but doesn't offer outlining and shadow. If you use the first option, you can scroll it in and out using the same pan/cop and/or track media stuff I mentioned before.
