Hello Everyone !!!

Hello from UK to all, I would just like to introduce myself as a new member. I am yet another totally (p&^*$d off) or less colloquially disgruntled user of Pinnacle products. But Hey a better new life exists. So it's into the SonyZone. All seems great and professionally refreshing. I have been using SVMS for a few days now and delighted with the results. Just a couple of points you may be able to help me with.
Before you may ask, my machines are all top end jobbies with NTFS SATA.

1. I get a lot of audio crackling when capturing video from my Canon DV camera. Never had it with previous capture progs.

2. When I first started capturing the video was jittery, I changed the capture settings from NTSC to PAL and it seems OK. Does this make sense?

3. I tried to update my DVD Architect 2.0 Studio online only to find DVDA 2.0b. When I ran the update it overwrote some of my DVDAS files but it seems to work OK. Do I take it that the SVMS update updates the DVDAS or not? If not what do I do?

with regards

Hi badgerballs! Taking your questions in order:-

1. I've got an old Canon MV20 - the audio's always been fine for me, but then I still use MS 3 and I know the capture program's updated for version 4. In the short term it shouldn't be a problem if you can get a clean capture with another app - MS doesn't care how you captured your source. It's worth trying to fix the problem, but it's not a show stopper.

2. I've never tried to capture in NTSC so I don't know what problems it causes (I'm in the UK too) but it makes sense to use PAL settings to capture PAL :-)

3. DVD Architect and DVD Architect Studio are not the same product - so far as I know, DVDAS updates are bundled with VMS. You may be OK, but since you've only just started I'd be tempted to uninstall / reinstall just to be on the safe side.
