You mean for capturing? Use firewire

You mean for display? What's in your computer now? And what do you want that's different?

Your video card makes NO difference at all. None, not in the limited way Vegas uses it. Pick a card that best meets your needs for what else you'll use your computer for.

If you want digital transfer for DV camcorder-use firewire, but for analog I would recommend inexpensive ATI all-in-one. Analog input and output.Capture max 720X480 standard NTSC DV. It come with TV tuner. I had never problem with capture and no sync problem.

As of now I use media 100(old version) and my projects are fast and semi easy works. This would be a strictly editor comp only. Upper management wants me to use a PC and IDK Vegas seems fine, just wondering what capture card to suggest, my needs: To digitize compistie and S-vhs and firewire and output composite and firewire. something with rca in and out for audio

probably something with a monitor option/

thanx again
I'll check on that card

I am not a pro....

I use ATI All-In-Wonder 8500. It has RCA, S-video, firewire, and USB... It also has a handy "reach around" cable so that you can access all of your inputs and outputs at the front of your computer. It supports LCD as well as conventional monitors, and TV.

So far, it has done for me what I wanted it to do.

ATI is also supported by microsoft at microsoft.com.

If you choose ATI, be sure to check Microsoft for updates for Windows.
