Help!

Hi, I have two problems I would like some assistance with.

I tried installing Vegas 4.0 on two different PCs and had two completely different problems. I'm trying to use Vegas with DIVX files.

1) First PC I installed Vegas, I navigate to my AVI files and they are invisible, I cannot see ANY avi files! All of my codecs seem OK so I don't know what is going on. Any ideas?

2) Second PC I can load an AVI file, but it only loads the audio, not the video track. I have tried to install divx 3.11, divx 4.12, and divx 5.05 and none of them seem to work. Any ideas?

Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know about the first problem. As for the second, it's a typical codec problem. There are variants of the DivX codec (Xvid, MPEG4), and perhaps the AVI file you're trying to open is one of them. I suggest you use VirtualDub (free on the web) to open the AVI file. I will complain that it does not have the right codec, and will give you its brief name. Then you can look it up on the net.
