<<<<<<HELP>>>>>>>>

I recently purchased Screenblast movie studio video editing software and I am encountering problems. When I press the playback button a message window appears telling me that an error has occurred. It says that "an error occurred while starting playback." It says that "the device specified is in use." It has two button options on the bottom of the window: OK and Details>>. I click on Details>> and it says that the "playback device Microsoft Sound Mapper is in use by another application." I then opened up my Windows Task Manager to see what other applications were running. Screenblast Movie Studio 3.0 is the only application running. I then searched my computer for Microsoft Sound Mapper. This search returned no results. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a problem with the sound card. What device do you have selected as the preferred playback device? You can check this setting under the (Sounds &) Multimedia control panel.

It would also be useful to know OS are you using (Windows 9x/ME or 2000/XP) and what sound card you have.
