I NEED HELP
My system is a Pentium 3 600, 128MB, 30 GB System drive, 40 GB Video drive, and an generic OCHI Compliant IEEE 1394 Card. I am having a few quirks that is holding up a lot of progress with my productions. First of all I can capture video with the video capture software fine and everything looks great, but when I go to play it back in video capture or try to preview on camera or even record to camera I get an error. Even when it does try to play back the picture is not clear, but has lines all across it and the image is not clear as if there is a problem with the drivers. I went to SF’s website and upgraded my video capture and direct x as needed, but this didn’t help with my situation. Even when I render a video in Vegas and want to record back to tape video capture won’t record it back to tape it just freezes up. As of this morning after the upgrade Vegas video won’t let me view any clips it gives me an error stating: Exception 0xC0000005 (access violation) READ:0xFFFFFFFF IP:0x5F9C8333
In Module 'AVIPLUG.DLL'. Thanks for your help and support!

My computer didn't like the VidCap 2.0 program either. But VidCap 2.5 works great. You can get ver. 2.5 by downloading the Video Factory 2 demo. Then you can either run it from VF demo, or run it by itself from the "run" feature in your windows startup menu.
The file name is "vidcap25.exe".
Hope this gets you going. Also see my post about using Pinnacle Studio DV for output. Do a search for studio, or under my screen name.
