HELP!! Can't Capture!!

garo wrote on 1/19/2004, 7:37 AM
Even tried using Vegcap.exe
I get: "Could not initiate program oxc00000005"
I un-installed Pinnacle which captured great since a SONY tech rep said that this could be the problem why Vegas wasn't capturing previously - so now I can't capture at all. If I look in the prefferences in Vegas under Video Device I see the correct firewire there etc.
Help?

Tried most of that already - nothing works - no capture - think it would help to re-install Vegas?

I think a little more info would help. We know the camera and pc would cooperate before, just not with Vegas capture, right? Now you've uninstalled Pinnacle and Vegas capture still will not work. When you uninstalled Pinnacle, did you go in and delete the folders as well? Is this a new Vegas install? Did you have a previous version and upgrade? When you open Vegas capture, is your camera recognised under "Video?" Many questions, but not much to go on for the forum.

A clean reinstall can't hurt, you aren't going anywhere without capturing. DGrob

Now I've done all of what has been suggested - pulled firewire card, removed it from the Device Mamnger - re-installed Vegas - now at least Vegas opens when I turn on the camera but no Capture! I tried starting Play and then hitting Capture but no go. I use the WINDOWS MovieMaker to capture but the problem with that is that Vegas doesn't recognise scene clips and that means you have to go in maually and Insert splits where nessasary.
I imagine that there is something in the register that is still present from Pinnicle that is "holding on" to the capture function?
