Help! can't render over 1.99Gb

Hello

I deleted my previous post because I am facing a problem I really don't understand.

I have several HD, all NTFS with XP, on all of them I have lot of big videos (up to 14 giga each) made with Vegas and I never had this problem before.

I used to render using the PAL template, yesterday I tried the Sony YUV codec and since I am having this error message:

"The file being rendered has exceeded the maximum size allowed for the selected format"

Vegas stops the rendering exactly at 1.99 gb. I checked the option of using Wav64, I tried to render without sound at all, no result. Worst is that I tried to go back to the previous PAL codec and I am receiving the same error and no way to render over 1.99 giga on any of my HD.

Now I am stuck, being unable to render any video as I can't go over 1.99 giga.

Any body has a clue of what can be wrong? I have a job to do for yesterday and no idea on how to solve my problem....

Thanks

Are you rendering to AVI? I seem to recall that type 1 AVI files are limited to 2GB. If you are turning off the "Create an OpenDML" option in the Custom / Video tab this could be your problem. Leave this option set on.

I guess you checked to see how much real space you have on left your HDs? 1.99gb is a bit magical though.

Kelly, would this still be the case going back to the PAL option? - G

I do have enough space on my HD, and I render to AVI, I am trying with the open dml checked to see if it goes over the 1.99 gb.

It's really 1.99 gb this is why my first thought was to modify the sound format (I use PCM uncompressed 16 buts stereo) but even without sound rendering stops at 1.99gb.

Grazie, apparently so. You can make type 1 and type 2 PAL files.

So far my rendering hasn't stop and it must be over 1.99 gb, looks like the open dml option was the problem...

I keep my fingers crossed and thanks you!
