I purchased the well reviewed CANOPUS ADVC 100 to capture video from my laser disk collection and vintage vcr tapes. The ADVC 100 works great, except I was told by SF that they will not support a non-compliant device which this device is. It outputs SONY digital cam files. I tried to get some suggestions from SF and they said maybe I need a 2nd firewire port. So I bought a pyro DV PCMCIA card. Nothing changed. However, This card came with a full version of Premiere 6.0 for free along with much other software. Premiere has an option to capture from a non- controllable device. It worked great. So now I capture in ADOBE PREMIERE 6.0 and edit in Vegas 3.0
SOMETHING DOESNT SOUND RIGHT ABOUT THIS ? Anyhow, If anyone has DAZZLE or ADVC 100 on a laptop , How are you doing it?
Cheers
