help Corrupt audio files

just opened a project which has a track of audio voice over (AVI), all was working good previosly, but now no audio, all the events on the track seem empty (white with writing 'media offline') the media files also will not open and seam currupt. Can anyone help to fix, if not any sujestions as to why this has happened??

Did the file paths get changed or files moved to another drive?... Vegas usually asks if it can't find a file though.

I agree. Whenever i delete or move media, Vegas forgets where it was, so it shows up in the timeline as white boxes with "media offline" or similar. The key is to never move media during a project.

You can follow the popup dialog boxes that you get when you first open the project up after restarting Vegas...you can manually search for the missing files or allow Vegas to search for you. Often, when it finds one file, it will prompt you with something like "hey, I found more files that are missing in the same location..do you want me to use them also?" The reason for asking this, which may sound obvious, is that sometimes you can havfe multiple files with the exact same name in different locations (different folders or drives) and Vegas may or may not know which is the correct one.
