Can you pin down where on the timeline this is happening? If so, render just that section and try to repro this, and then try removing Fx and transitions there, until you no longer get that error. Just a thought...

Try this.

Copy the project and rename it as something else - I wont say it will work, but when I get huge reports like this AND I've posted similar, I've wiated for responses . . .anyway . . . just try the copy and rename thing.

Can't do any harm, and might get you through the night.

Otherwise some of the GuRus here might have an idea.

Grazie

ok thanks...i'll give both of those ideas a try

You can glean a little bit from the "report"... the module names (*.exe and *.dll) on the right *might* give an indication of what was responsible. The suspicious ones are sftrans1.dll and sfs4rw.dll. I'm guessing sftans1.dll deals with transition Fx. That's where the access violation occured (the program accessing stuff it isn't allowed to, due to a bug), but that doesn't necessarily mean sftrans1.dll is at fault.

If you can figure out what sfs4rw.dll is used for (good luck), that might give an indication of what to suspect too.

Try navigating windows explorer into your c:\program files\sonic foundry (or whatever) directory, and looking for the file sfs4rw.dll. If you find it there somewhere, right click on it and choose "Properties"... it should bring up a dialog ... go to the Details tab, and see if there is a "Description" field that describes what it does (you might need to click the Advanced button).
If for example, it said, "Audio Fx" or something, you might go into your project, and disable any unusual audio fx you had applied, and see if the problem repros.

This is a real long shot :-)

thanks again.....went back and tried to render the area where it always stopped...7%...it did it again...so i removed the video effects one by one and finally it let me render that segment....i suspect the effect then screwed up the render like you all mentioned...so wisely....i am doing a full render now....should be done in 3 minutes...nope....5 hours or so..hehe....thanks for all the help again...
