Help files don't open correctly

I have a problem with Vegas, DVDA, and Sound Forge in which the help files don't open and an error is reported. I have reported this directly to Gary and one of the techs advised that the solution that used to work for Sony versions does not now work. Anyone else seeing this problem? Help greatly appreciated.

I get a similar message in all three apps. Note that other apps such as Xara Designer Pro X, Reason, and Acon Digital Accoustica all open help files correctly.

This is the error message:

The operation completed successfully. Error processing resource 'mk:@MSITStore:C:\Program%20Files%20(x86)\Sony\Shared%20Plu...

From the error message it looks like you're running a Sony version of Vegas.

Try this: Locate the help file, probably in c:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\Shared Plug-Ins\Help Files. The file is probably named vegasxxx.chm, where xxx is the version of Vegas. Right-click on the file and see if it marked as blocked. Unblock it if it is.

Thanks, I'll try that, but this help file issue only happens on Magix versions of Vegas Pro 15, 16, Sound Forge 11, 12, DVDA 5, 6.

I never encountered the issue with the earlier Sony versions.

The help files appear in c:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\Shared Plug-Ins\Help Files as suggested, but within the SONY folder I also find vegas140.chm, vegas150.chm and vegas160.chm (also each has a .chw version - don't know what that is). So why are the Magix versions 14, 15 and 16 located in the Sony folder?

Also, none of these seems to be blocked. Curioser and curioser...

It's the same on my system, but I'm not having any problems opening help for either Sony or Magix products.
