Help getting started with Alpha Channel pics.

I read in the manual to Vegas Video that it's preffered to use PNG or TGA pictures with a saved Alpha Channel. Because this would be better when masking things i n Vegas. I have no idea hwo to do this...

I think I have been able to save an Alpha channel in the TGA format from Photoshop 5.5 and 6.0 but then when I use it in vegas.. .it does'nt turn out as the manual says... I maybe doing something wrong. Can someone please email me or explain here how to make a Simple Title to a movie using an Alpha Channel TGA or PNG picture? PLEASE!!!

I'm using Photoshop 6, but it should work the same way for version 5.5.

Create a new Photoshop file with a transparent canvas. Type some text into your file. Save it as a .PNG file. Then drop your file into Vegas and it should come out correctly. Only the text will be visible and the background is transparent.

Using TGA files is a bit more complicated, so use PNG files if they work for you.
