Help HALP!

"Failed to load the selected print device."
I'm trying a simple Print To Tape here in Vegas 7d and getting that error.
I THOUGHT I was way under my deadline, but now I'm hitting this PTT wall and am starting to stress a bit.
Checking my Print Device, it says I'm using
"OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394/DV
Details:
Hot plugable device
Device connected"
But when I go to PTT, I get that above error both when I click Next at the "Conform Timeline..." window and then again at the "Leader & Trailer" window. Then I click Finsh, it renders my timeline and then stops the process.

My current work around is to render the file as a DV-AVI in V7d and take that into Vegas 6d. It all works fine there.
At least I have a work around.

You had similar problem before:

Can Not Print to Tape with Vegas 7

If this is a DV project, can you capture from a tape using the Vegas interface? Can you print to the device using that same Vegas capture interface (i.e., the one you access through the File menu, rather than the PTT you get through the Tools menu). I would start in this menu and make sure you can both capture and send video back to a scratch tape. If not, "reconnect" to the device and try again. Also, try turning off the camera, shut down the computer, then restart the computer, turn on the camera, and finally, after the system recognizes the camera, start Vegas and try again.

Also, turn off all 1394 drives and disconnect them from your computer during this troubleshooting phase.

If it is a HDV project, then your device is being identified incorrectly, and you have a whole different set of troubleshooting steps to follow.

Yes, and it's never been fixed. Different error now.
We've been able to send our spots (cable commercials) electronically for a long time, so I forgot completely about PTT.
Now we're having problems with our electronic delivery method (something with Ad Link), so we're back to tapes and I'm back to having troubles.

To your questions:
Yes, this is a DV project and, yes, I can capture using the Vegas interface. No, I can't PTT using that same interface; the icons are grayed out.
I'm using the Sony M10u Deck.
As for turning off the deck and back on again, it doesn't seem to matter when I have it on in the chain. Results are the same.

Thanks for the ideas, though. I wish this were more simple to track down.

If you have another deck, can you print to it? (Use the capture interface, since it gives you a lot more feedback on what is going on).

Another thing to try is a different cable. I know, it should screw up both the capture and the print, but I had a flaky cable (it's still here on my desk) that still permitted some operations. I can't explain (technically) how it could still work (I thought digital was all or nothing), but that was my experience.

Also, in the Vegas capture window, in the Video menu, check to make sure your camera is selected.

Can you play a tape from the capture window by using the play/rewind controls?

In the capture windows, go to Options -> Preferences, and select "Default All" for each tab.

Just some thoughts. Haven't had this exact problem, so I cannot give you a more certain answer based on actual experience.

If you have the deck in HDV made you'll get exactly this problem.
Disconnect the deck from the PC, change the decks recording mode to DV. Connect deck back to the PC, power up PC and all should be fine.

Sorry...
I mis-typed (or, specifically, mis-remembered - THEN typed the wrong info), I'm using a Sony DSR1500, which is a DV deck - no HDV.
I do have a M15 in another edit bay. I'll have to creep in there later tonight, steal it and try it over here in DV mode.

Thanks to you both for the suggestions.
