Help! How To Remove Picture in Picture Default?

I really like finally upgrading, and compared to 13 it feels a lot more sleek. But my biggest issue is how a new project by default makes a video layer set to Picture in Picture. How do I remove that without having to constantly delete the track?

Unfortunately there's no option to amend the default track layout. But Jack S's post in this thread gives a useful suggestion which is what I do.
