I have an existing mpg movie and want to put a title at the begining of the movie. But when I drug a text over my clip the background of the text has solid color. I want the background of the text to be trasparent, so I could only see the text over the movie.
Any ideas how do I this? thanks guys

You should use the text preset with the checkerboard background. The checkerboard indicates transparency.

You can also convert the solid background you have now to be transparent. Click on the Properties tab in the text generator window and drag the Background Color alpha slider all the way down to the checkerboard area at the bottom, or change the A value to 0.

Where are you placing the text on your timeline? It needs to be in a separate track above the video clip. For example, place the text on track one, the MPEG video on track two, and the MPEG audio on track three.
