HELP! I goofed...

Before a four-hour editing session in Vegas Audio LE, I forgot to set my sampling rate at 48,000 mhz. I imported my audio file into the topmost audio track, copied the bits I plan to use and pasted them into the track below. Alas, when I saved the project, all of it defaulted to 44,100 mhz. Because my original file is still 48,000, is there anyway to switch the uncut, converted 44,000 with the 48,000 on the top audio track so that the copied bits on the track below will also convert to 48,000? I know I could resample in Sound Forge after I render the edits to a new .wav file, but I was hoping to avoid compressing and recompressing this. Thanks in advance for your reply.

If you copied and pasted, all you did was copy pointers to the same original source file (as compared to rendering to a new track). You should be able to simply set your project properties to 48KHz (File, Properties, Audio), and then save again.
