Help in making my own buttons/frames

I'm doing a old family video from movies that my dad took in the 40s, 50s & 60s. I've created my own main menu which offers a selection of 3 decades. After selecting one of the decades, the next menu will be a background with multiple antique photo frames. Each photo frame will be a different chapter. What I want to do is make each photo frame into a button that I can insert the scene selection into. I know that I need to make each photo frame into 2 png files: one the frame and one the mask. I can make the frame, but how do I make the mask? I have Photoshop.

the mask is eigther a) an alpha channel psd/png or b) a black/white image with white being transparent.

check the doc's (ie F1) but it's one of those.

Look at the files in the movie1.thm file. THM files are actually zip files. This will
help you visualize the end results.

Your mask needs to be the same size of the frame. I would open your Frame.png
file and save it as Frame-Mask.png. Then the center area where you want the actual
photo to show, paint it pure white. The rest of the area needs to be painted black.

Thanks for the suggestions. I made 2 photo frames and they are showing up...BUT...can you make a theme of just buttons? How much of the xml files do I delete?

I figured it out! I deleted everything in the xml file except for the graphics and it worked.
