HELP! .m2t files & avchd freezes Vegas!

I got a brand new sr11, and have been recording in hd, and it puts it into a .m2t file that when i try and put it into vegas platinum 8, it freezes up the program. It says right on the box of the software that it can edit avchd, so why can't i even get it on the timeline????

Did you update to the LATEST free update of Vegas?

not yet, but i will as soon as i get off work, will that fix the problem?

Most probably yes. You should always update to the latest versions of complex software like a video editor. You should never expect a x.0 release to be bug-free.
