Having just purchased ACEDVio that came with Vegas 4 I was wanting to get into a project. A friend of mine has Hi8 footage of a trip he took to the log house that he and his wife are building. I want to do a title that uses letters with a wood texture.

Here is what my timeline looks like:
Track one - 9 seconds clip of drive down country road.
Track two - 4 second .bmp black with white house shape cut out
switching to 5 second text generator with title
Track three - 9 secs noise generator wood grain with bumpmap FX

My out put looks good. Wood grain house shrinking to a blob that explodes back out to fill the screen with wood grain text, except this is all totaly trasparent. I would like the text to be solid with none of the back ground image (drive down country road footage) coming through but still be seperate letters. I spent most of my time tweaking the noise genrator to get the wood grain looking just right and it just isn't coming through.

I'm sure there is a way to do this but I haven't figured it out yet and Im kinda rushed. They are moving to Valdez at the end of next week and I need to wrap this up.
