Help! My forum is too long, maybe!

By this post I ask the Forum Administrator whether thought has been given to setting up a Table of Contents by subject matter, as a supplemental search device for the 35,000+ posts on this forum or across forums (fora?).

If this is impracticable, just let it drop! Otherwise, being familiar with the psychodynamics of large corporations (and I do mean psycho), the act of considering and rejecting a table of contents will evolve into doing away with the forum or some such thing.

Cynical, ain't I?

I've thought about that, also. There is a huge amount of knowledge in this forum. Good idea about a Table of Contents.

But the problem remains, who is going to associate the contents with a TOC? I have to clean up data all of the time, and it is the outliers that kill you. Maybe set up a bunch of keywords, then create a new table all of the messages per keyword. Dump all the others into a "Miscellaneous" category.

Of course, I hardly ever go the existing Knowledgebase on this site. (except for the discount!).

I would much rather search existing messages/knowledge base info and experiment before I bug others.

they could implement a Tagging feature...but that still leaves a huge database without tabs. But if any user can add tabs to a post, then as users go back and research older posts, they can add helpful tags that got them there.
