Help...my pc will no longer playback Vegas rendered DV

I am appealing for some help from some of you video wizards, as I am in the middle of a project when my pc(1.2g win2000) refuses to playback any dv that has been captured or rendered in Vegas 3.c. I have been using Vegas for over a year with absolutely no problems(other than human error), but all of a sudden the only way I can view any of my vegas created/captured dv files is by previewing them inside vegas.
I cannot view in windows explorer or import into any other video program(I tried Aura dv and Particle Illusion...before today no problem). Windows media player is suddenly stating "unable to download an appropriate decompressor", on files I have been playing all year.????
Then problem may be that I have recently installed (very stupidly) a copy of Aist Moviedv4 that I found cheap. All I wanted that crappy program to do was use it as an After Effects and Photoshop filter app....If only Vegas would support 8bf or aex style filters ;( alas. So I am thinking that installing this has screwed up the dv codecs on my system? looking in Video Codecs, I can't see any DV codecs installed...I know that the SF Dv codec is not Directshow(would be good to change that sofo!)...but the Microsft DV is not listed either?

If someone could give me a heads up here I would be most grateful!!!!!!!

Don't bother to reply to this post, as I have worked out the problem already. It is always simpler than you anticipate...just a matter or re-installing Vegas and Direct X8....;) Back to your regularly scheduled program......
