I'm truly having difficulties getting my head around DVDA.........I will have to open the manual one of these days.
Anyways, I was trying to create a simple Dobly Digital encoded DVD audio disc, that would play in my DVD player. It was a test disc that I needed. What I did was I had 2 audio files that where back to back on a single track in Vegas. One was a 1Khz @ 0dB sinewave file, the other a -10dB @ 0dB sinewave file. All faders set a detent 0dB. I rendered the project as a Stereo AC3 file. I then opened DVD Architect, then just dragged the AC3 file into the audio track. The thing I noticed is that the audio waveform was really small, nowhere near to full scale as I rendered it from Vegas. Being new to DVDA, I looked for a master audio fader to monitor the peak level playback to verify my 1Khz@ 0dB sinewave would peak at 0dB.......there isn't an audio meter in DVDA? Well it played back and I heard the sound, so I guess everything was ok. I burned the DVD and it played fine in my DVD player. I'm just wondering what did I do wrong that my audio level got turned down so far? What are the normal steps to make a simple Dolby Digital encoded audio DVD?
