help: no sound in mpg only in vegas...

hello i have a prob. i like to edit a showreel so i have material on a macrovisonfree dvd.. when i copy the files from the dvd on my harddisk an rename the vob- files in mpg i can heare and see the files in the mediaplayer but when i import them to vegas i just get the picture without sound...

It uses an audio codec that isn't compatible with vegas? Convert it to .wav with an external tool, then try again.

thanks for u´re answer but how could i convert the file to wav?
i just have one file, mpg with sound... do i have to extract the sound out of the mpg?...
how does that works...

I think VirtualDub could do it. Google for it.
