Help Please - lost signal TO my External

mjroddy wrote on 11/19/2004, 9:22 PM
I did - something.
I just don't know what I could have done.
I used to be able to have my video preview on my external monitor via my DSR 45. Now I can't.
My firewire seems to be working. I can capture just fine. But I just can't see the project even on the LCD on my 45.
Video Device reads OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394/DV
and
This device supports recompression
Hot pluggable device
Device connected
I searched the archives for a couple more than a hundred enteries (looking with the key word "External") and didn't see a solution.
What am I missing here?
Thanks for any help.

Forgot to mention that my DSR45 is set to DV input and that if I put a tape in the deck, I can see that playback on my monitor.
Just nothing out from my computer.

Stupid me.
Sorry for the message here. Wish I could delete it.
Now my only hope is someone else can learn from my dopiness.
I accidentally hit the monitor button on the Video Preview window. I've never done that before (a random click, apparently), so I never thought to look there. Cost me over an hour of searching and struggling and tracking cable and ...
engh...
Lesson learned.

Looks like Spot's got you covered in your other thread.
I'm using a 14in. Toshiba Flat Screen that I got from Best Buy a year ago. Nice little monitor.
