TechGirl wrote on 3/28/2012, 10:56 AM
Hi,
Iam having some major issues with trying to edit multiple projects on 1 timeline. I have finished 3 projects (veg.files) separately and would like to bring them together on 1 timeline and edit all 3 together. The issue Iam having is this, the first project I import, everything works fine, There is a track for Text, a video Track and an Audio Track. The next project I import gets will only Import 2 tracks, The video and the text are combined and there is a seperate audio track.
I need to edit the Text Tracks on all 3 projects together, so what am I doing wrong?
Thank you for your help
TechGirl

How are you "import"ing? Are you nesting, or copy&pasting?

Hi Chienworks,

Thanks for replying to my post. All Im doing is just selecting File-Import-Media....or File-Open. Im ready to re-install the entire Vegas Pro as it seems the new update is making my Pro unstable....I dunno....

Thanks again for your help!!

TechGirl, a single video and audio track is what you get when you nest a file, no matter how many tracks are in the original file.
The good thing is that you can still edit the nested file by right-clicking on it and choosing "Edit in Vegas - Filename.veg".
This opens the file in a new instance of Vegas.
Make your changes, click Save, and the veg file in the project you're working on is updated almost instantly.

One issue I have with nesting is that since V11 is installed, Vegas wants to do the nesting with V11 even with a V10 project. This is in spite of me assigning V10 as the default VEG extension association. I can get around this by opening the nested file manually in a separate instance of V10 but V11 will be the default nest VEG editor if I do it normally. This is an issue because nested V11 projects will crash with about the same frequency as regular V11 projects (every couple of minutes or less).

Laurence, I had this. You've reminded me of it happening, but now VP10e is behaving itself. Could this be that after a couple more usages of 595 AND not checking the opening menu to default the "veg" option, Neeted VP10e projects are now consistently being openned in VP10e. You've reminded, and presently VP10e is behaving itself. This wasn't the case previously when I checked the "veg" option.

This is not an acceptable position.
