Ok, their are three cameras: 1998 vintage JVC DVL9000 in progressive mode, '02 JVC DV300 in 60i, and '03 Sony PC105 in 60i widescreen.
I am viewing to an external monitor via the Firewire port on an Audigy Platinum card (front port) through the Sony PC105 to a Panasonic BT-H1390Y monitor via the S-video connector.
All of the DVL9000 footage is rock steady. So is the DV300. Now some of the PC105 is Ok, but alot of it flickers.
Now these clips where already captured to the hard drive (no flicker during capture) and are played back from the timeline, the trimmer, or the media pool. The problem occurs no matter where they are played back.
The media pool reports that the captured clips are lower field first. I have tried lower field first, upper field first, and progressive as project properties. In progressive, the flicker goes away.
Why do some clips flicker and others do not?
