to all here in these support forums . i pose to you this seemingly simple question .

.

well i'm quite new to VEGAS while having a bit of experience in AfterEffects and Motion .

i like VEGAS' simple . strait forward cut and paste method of editing but i have been unable

to figure out how to slow down a video .

in AE it's labeled a TIME REMAP or TIME STRETCH .

.
.

how could i take a 1min30sec VIDEO and STRETCH it into 3min . so as to be halfspeed ? ? ?

i know that i could do it in AE or MOTION and then import the movie . but i would rather get

my hands good and dirty in this program to really get that learn on .

MANY MANY thanks in advance .

Two ways:

1) Hold down the CTRL key and resize the clip will slow it down or speed it up to cover the new length. (or go into properties and manually adjust the playback rate)

2) Insert a velocity envelope and add points/speed changes as needed.

A FOLLOW UP . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

im not sure if i should ask this in VEGAS SOUND . or here .

but i made the assumption that when STRETCHING the video . the audiotrack could also be stretched .

that is not the case .

..
..

i see that i can change the play rate on both seperately via properties . BUT

how can i change them simultaneously ? ? ? ?

ALSO . is it possible to STRETCH the audio without such crappy results, echoes and the like ? ? ?

MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE

When you hold down the CTRL key and resize the clip to change the speed, It will automatically adjust both at the same time.

well i tried the control + dragging business but it didn't do what i wanted (pitch doesn't change when moving slower speeds, should be lower) but i can live with manually adjusting both to each other. However, what happens when you wish to have multi-point slow mo? Example inserting multiple points for a velocity envelope

The control-drag should work OK if you set Pitch Change - Lock To Stretch in the audio event's properties. Pitch change tied to video event velocity envelope would be very nice, but I don't think Vegas has it right now.
