HELP! Still Clip Length Problem

I click on one of my still jpeg's. I go to View/Edit Details and change the length from 6 sec to 8 seconds and Vegas automatically puts in a figure of 26:31????
Why is Vegas fixing the length and not letting me adjust it to 8 secs or whatever?

I dunno but the solution is to simply zoom in on the timeline and drag either end of the clip to lengthen it.

Make sure you use punctuation in edit details. 8 secs = 00:00:08:00.

or perhaps even easier, switch to Seconds by right clicking any of Vegas's time displays and choosing Time Format | Seconds
