HELP, V5 suddenly quit

Hey guys, I am working on a project due this weekend, and was almost finished. I worked until about midnight last night and rendered a test avi, everything was cool. I came home at lunch today to add some more data, now when I try to open a recent veg file, I get a stack dump error and v 5 crashes. I can open older vegs (some actually on the same date, but done at different times). If I create a new one, save it, then try to open it, V 5 crashes. I have run scandisk, and tried to load from backups. That really shouldn't matter since I can create a brand new one and try to open it. Any ideas while I'm waiting for Sony to get back from lunch? Desparate.

Not sure but if you have Photo shop installed there is a conflict, do a search in the knowledge Base

Thanks for responding. I figured out what is going on, it's a png file, I just happened to use one when I created a new file, which crashed. If I do not use a png in the veg, it works okay. After I discovered this, I converted to psd, it's working okay now. Odd that the files opened for a few days, then stopped with the dump. Should I send more info or will this do for now?
In the mean time, I'll stick with strictly psd, I remember a similar post earlier about bmps.
'ppreciate ya!

Thanks zcheema, I really appreciate your help. Apparently there are several impage format problems with v 5, bet they are fixed in next version.

Many of us are having problems with BMP's. I haven't tried PNG.

Unfortunately, like you, you can bring in the image and everything is fine UNTIL you close and re-open the project. That's dangerous - since you can lose all your work and not realize it until you try to open the project again.

I've been reporting the problems. But for peace of mind, I'm staying with vv4 until vv5 gets fixed. I have no idea what else I might add to a project, only to find I can't re-open it. That's scary.

You could probably save most of your work by renaming the files and then openning the project - it would error on the missing files, but at least it should open.
