HELP!!! Vegas 5 and 6 do not see camera now

I have been using this setup for years. TRV-900 into Pyro 1394-DV firewire card. Was last used sucessfully end of June. Nothing has changed by me. I now go to capture video and neither program or MS Moviemaker will see this camera or my GL-2. It will see my JVC standalone DVD recorder when plugged into it. I have tried 2 different firewire cards, 3 different pc's with the same results. Is this a product of a pushed MS update? Anyone else having the same issues? I am desperate, as I need to get a wedding into the pc the finish in 4 days! I am running Vegas 6b and the latest Vegas 5.

Help!

Thanks in advance!

Hopefully it is as simple as a bad cable.

Check the firewire connector on your camera. They have been known to break.

I will try, but the pc does not see either my TRV-900 OR the GL-2 I have. I have tried different cables also. I brought it here to work and tried it on a Mac and still no go. I am hoping it might be a bad connector, but dont know how much work it will entail to repair/replace it...

Thanks!

Update: It seems that it is each of the 2 camera's firewire ports went bad! Why they both went bad at the same time on 2 different camera's, I dont know. I tried a 3rd camera that had never been my studio and it worked fine with the software and pc. I will investigate further, but this perplexes me!

Check your cables thoroughly. It could be you had a bad cable that either shorted or bent the connectors on the cameras.

I am beginning to wonder if my 12 year old son had anything to do with this! He tries to be like his dad (scary!)
