Dont know what happened ? workin in V9 alls good, then closed down. did some other work in other apps. treid to reopen and Vegas starts but then i get the windows Vista error : vegas stopped working and needs to close. Tried to open my V8 version and the same thing! treid anther veg, still the same! uninstalled both versions both 8 and 64 bit including all vegas folders in app data folders and registry. reinstalled V8 and still the same thing. Thinking its a Vista problem but where do i start?? I really dont want todo a reinstall of windows ,,,too many programs to register inccluding the adobe manual registration for CS4 programs ARRRGHH!

You may have to start with a clean install of windows. Ugggggh! .. I had a similar problem. I gave up after 3 days and did a fresh install of windows. Since then I keep backed up on Acronis disc imaging software. Sounds like something is up in the windows registry. Can you go back to a restore point where things were working? Windows restore points work very well.

99.9% that a clean install of windows will clear things up --- huge drag but sometimes the long, sure way is the shortest path. Besides -- it does make your system run faster! ..

Have you run the memory check thingy on Vista?
