HELP! Vegas Can't find ASIO

dfields wrote on 7/6/2004, 6:19 AM
Hi All,

I just formatted my HD and when I reinstalled Vegas 5b, I've got a problem.

I use SoundBlaster live5.1 as my audiocard and it is working on other softwares (windows media, premiere pro, AE, winamp), but when I run Vegas a message appears just before the program opens:

"There are no Creative Audio products installed and running on the system that supports ASIO"

When I click OK, Vegas opens normally and the audio runs perfectly.

What is this error? How can I fix it?

I've been using vegas since version 4 and I've never seen this.

Can you help me?

thanks

Daniel

Have you been to the creative site and downloaded their latest drivers? There are a couple threads on this here, plus on the DMN. Creative did some creative things with their shipped ASIO drivers...Download the latest, that should clear your issue.

Spot,

I'll do that. But I went to the creative site and did something like a creative update and everything was ok.

I'll focus on downloading and installing the driver.

thank you
Daniel

I Just fixed it using the help on the KB #723.

No download of new drivers was needed (but I will do it anyway)

I searched forum again and found a similar problem.

Thanks Spot.

What/Where is KB #723?

KB = KnowledgeBase.

Go to the "Support" heading at the top of this page and select Knowledge Base. On the Support page, change the dropdown box in "Search By" from "Phrases" to Answer ID". Then enter 723 in the "Search Text" box, hit "Search" and a linked summary appears.
