Help!! Vegas crashes on startup

I have been working with Sony Vegas pro for about one month now and all worked fine. Then when I changed some settings on my video configuration and changed it back, Vegas did not run anymore. It's crashing when trying to startup and stops at "Initializing GPU-accelerated video processing" and gives me a screen with a problem-report.

I have contacted technical support and on request I uninstalled the software (and stript the registry and sony-files as desciped in the FAQ) and did a fresh install with a different admin user account. This was not resolving the problem.

I then removed the software and changed the driver for my video card (laptop HP dv7 ed6190). The max. resolution was terrible (768x1024) but Vegas was working again!. I then changed back to my proper driver for the laptop and Vegas crashes again.

The strange thing is that is has been working for about one month without any problem and now I can't get it back to work. I really don't want to reinstall my laptop as the problem can arrise the next day again and I don't want to buy a new pc!

My laptop runs windows 7 64 bit and I use Sony Vegas pro 13 build 373.

Any suggestions?

are you running with the intel hd or amd video processor?

can you not resort / rollback back to working drivers?

have you tried m$'s drivers rather than hp's?

also, when you do get up and running, disable gpu acceleration.
