Help! ----- Very Frustrated With Dell

I too got scammed by Dell with their video editing package (VideoWave 4.0 and Dazzle Mojave capture setup). This system leaves a lot to be desired and I kept lowering my expectations. After reading so many comments by others about this crappy system, I've finally accepted the fact that I had to buy something else. So I got Video Factory 2.0. Now the problem is that VF won't capture with the Dazzle set-up. So I thought, okay capture with the Dell package and edit with Video Factory. Unfortunately, VF won't/can't open avi files captured by the Dell system which are greater than about 450mb in size. Smaller clips (up to about 2.5 mins) open just fine. I cannot figure out what the problem is.
Is there anyone who can help me with this problem? What am I doing wrong?

Try running your file through this free converter:

http://www.canopuscorp.com/ppt_dvfileconverter.htm

For Target Format, choose Microsoft DV (AVI 2). The quality won't suffer in the conversion, since it is essentially lossless. Hope this helps!

Thank-you!!!!!!!!!!!!
I tried the conversion on several large files and it worked. I can now use Video Factory to edit these files.
I'm embarrassed to say how many hours I've spent trying to resolve this issue. You've made me very happy. Eventhough this is an extra step, it's worthwhile. Now I can delay buying another capture device.
God Bless You.

Dont feel bad...Many of us went through the hell of the "movie bundle" scenario....I ended up buying the canopus converter. The only item I use from the movie bundle is the card for firewire input to the pc. We have discussed on other posts uses for the dazzle box ;) the_ripper
