help with 1st project!

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and DVD artchitect program, and I'm trying to burn my 1st dvd. However, I keep getting the error message:

"please insert chapter marker in title "final slideshow" between "00.05:06.806" and "00:10:23.304"

I went back and inserted a chapter marker, but it still gives me the same mesage.

I have looked at the board and I can't find anything that helps me, does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?? Pleease, I'm becoming very frustrated!!!

Double check your project properties and make sure you didn't accidentally set the layer count to 2 under the Mastering options.

If the dialog box says something about setting a layer break, then for some reason DVDA thinks you're trying to make a double layer disk, which is probably not what you want to do.

You didn't say how you set the chapter mark, but in this case it would need to be on the DVDA timeline, not back in Vegas (or VMS depending on what you are using). Anyway, you shouldn't need to do this for a sinlge layer disk.

thanks scott, i am using a double layer disk because that's all I have right now, do you think that's the problem, should i be using a single layer dvd disk?? I will try your suggestions

IMHO yes.
For a DL video DVD the data should be split evenly across both sides -- might mean an awful lot of padding in your case. Might render to hdd & then test & burn whenever you get the chance to pick up some SL blanks?
