Sorry - SS, I'm running betwixt your two posts - Okay, you could dowload a Flash player - yeah? Then maybe use CamStudio or CamTasia to convert to avi - yeah? Now you have the .exe file can you play it on your pc?

Maybe you could:

1: Download a FLash player utility - I think it's freeware

2: Download one of the "Cam" utilities - I think CamStudio is freeware

3: Play Flash file on your screen and then use CamStudio to do an AVI moving Screen capture.

Hey - it's not a great solution - depends how much quality is needed.

Any chance of getting back to client and having it produced another way?

Well, the most obvious thing would be to biyte the bullet and buy Flash - any other takers on this one?

SS - There will be a solution - SOme cheap -Some expensive. How important is this client to you?

Grazie

YEah - Bummer! However, you didn't answer my, "How important is this client to you?" - If the client is worth it and how much is a dowload of Flash? Hey, you could then author stuff in Flash etc, etc - more options, more flexibility! Maybe more clients - yeah? How much is Flash anyway?

As I said before - if you can play on screen you could do a CamStudio screen capture; quality is something you will need to consider though. But you could have a cheap/quick 'n dirty solution

You need the flash movie file before you can play around with it in flash - and even then its not guaranteed, as the author of the original file may have protected it. Flash is expensive if you are only going to use it now and then - try Swish (www.swishzone.com) a cheap but usable alternative. If you do get Flash, simply publish your movies in Quicktime and import into VV from there. You can also Export Flash movies to AVI, but I've not had a lot of success there yet!

If you follow Grazie's idea then you shouldn't need any software to open or work with the flash file. If it plays itself, then all you need is something like camtasia to capture it while it plays.

The best Flash to AVI that I've seen is "SWF2Video" by Flashants - amazing quality AVIs HUGE file sizes, but if you want quality?......
