Help with mpeg registration...

Tried to render an mpeg movie today and got a registration screen for the mpeg plugin. When I try to register on-line it says my number is not valid or not for the right software. ( I think it tries to use the VV3 serial number) I can't find out how to get this registered. Any help out there? Doesn't it come with VV3? It let me use the other mpeg1 and mpeg2 plugins, but not the one that just said mpeg. What's the difference between those two and the one that just says mpeg that it won't let me use? Thanks...

SF uses a third pary for this feature. Call SF to activate it.

Be sure to make clear to them it is the MPEG registration you want. I had to call 2X because they thought I was registering the program...

The one that just says mpeg is the old Ligos encoder, which is no longer supported by Sonic Foundry. If you purchased Vegas or Video Factory back when they were still using Ligos, you may call their tech support for an extended activation code. If you purchased it after then (i don't recall exactly what the cutoff date was, something like November 2001), then you're out of luck and you won't be able ot use it. Stick with the new Main Concept mpeg-1 and mpeg-2 encoders instead.
