Help with Multi-media software for live band!

Hi there!
My band is looking to integrate video into our live performances. I'm looking for a simple software package that allows me to:
- create a video playlist
- transitions (at least fade)
- loop

I've checked out a bunch of the huge number of DJ software packages, but I'm not looking to create content on the fly - just play back the stuff i've created in Vegas.

The scenario i would like to see is the is a preshow loop running, drummer hits the "next key" and it cross fades to the intro clip which automatically cross fades into the clip for the first tune. When that is complete, it automatically cross fades to a looping between song clip until the "next key" is hit again to contniue to the next clip.

Any ideas? All help is greatly appriciated. oh yeah - needs to run on windows.

thanks!!!
mike

Vegas running on the timeline.. with allocated markers...
u can set loop points etc, however if u loop a clip, then turn OFF loop to go into the next chapter/marer ares, the loop cmman will remain... so u have to wait until the loop starts again and stop it. turn off lopp then start again... then jsut let the clips roll on.. u canalso jump from clip to clip on the timeline wihtiout the need to scrub, so
playlisitng" each clip on the timeline will work..
Bear in mind that if ur feeding audio as well as video, u can only get a proper sync if using 2nd monitor. If using 1394, youl lget somethign like a 3 second lag...

Thanks for the response, i'll check that approach out, but I'm really looking for another software package to do it cleanly.

any ideas?

Well most VJ software is probably overkill but it's usually pretty progammable and would do what you want. I can't think of anything off the top of my head but "VJ" is probably the term to search on.

Everything I've ever looked at didn't qualify as simple. Ideally, you'd find some forums on the topic and ask the question there.

Take a look at the Edirol website:

DV7PR - touch screen. Might be an overkill but really cool system.
