Help with quick and dirty audio adjustment

I have about 130 events on my timeline, taken at different times with different cameras, and the audio levels are all over the place. I'd like to do an RMS normalization on each of the audio events and then using the audio volume envelope to tweak what still needs adjusting. Is there a plug-in that will let me do batch RMS normalization on each of the audio clips? Or maybe a script that will open each event in SF, run normalization and save and then go on to the next event? Any other ideas (must be of the quick and dirty variety)?

Really quick method, slightly different to what you want, but...

1 plugin.

Compressor :)

Boost your input gain lots, and tweak the threshold to a modestly high amount, and modest ratio.

(I am a normalisation fan too, but this was my first thought)

Use Graphic Dynamics plugin on either the track or - if you have the events spread over several tracks - on a separate bus. (Rightclick in the mixer and choose insert bus. You will see that the audio tracks get a new icon with which you can assign each track to the bus of your choice. Then you can drop plugins on that bus and it will process everything that goes through it.)

Most audio plugins have a setting for maxing the volume post-process. Use it wisely and usually only on the last in a chain of plugins. Normalisation is for when you don't need to do anything other than up the volume. Never happens to me.

Remember that you can save a chain of plugins as a package. This will also save the settings of each plugin. Changing the default track plugins will not save the settings.
