Problem:
I was attempting to make a montage and was watching YouTube videos on how to velocity sync. Out of the two videos I see, they end up saying cut the clips, control drag them to the beats in the song. I did that correctly but as soon as I get into the velocity part it all goes down hill. They set it so at the cuts it around 300% velocity and quickly goes down to 50% in a few frames, but keeping it at 50% for the rest of that clip ends up making it unsynced as it will now take 2x as long to get to the end because its playing at half speed. I don't know how I'm getting it wrong because I'm doing everything they are saying. I'm guessing maybe it is some setting. Please help

If that did not make sense ill try to reword. All the tutorials have it so in between the clips it goes to a velocity of 50%. The problem for me is having it at 50% makes the clip 2x as long which unsyncs the whole thing. They do not seem to get this problem.
