Help with VMS as an Audio CD creator

I'm using VMS 10 HD Platinum to edit old audio cassettes. It's pretty good for that! And all I want to do is simply burn a CD from the timeline. However, the timeline is 5 1/2 hours long which, of course, won't fit on one CD. But, the audio is of a speaker and the content is more important than full fidelity. You should have heard the original before I used the parametric EQ on it!

I want to compress the audio onto one CD. How can I do that using the VMS 10 HD Platinum Suite?

Looks like I will need to use a 3rd party tool........

There is no such tool anywhere. An Audio CD is limited to about 79 minutes 48 seconds, no matter what software you use. That's just the limitation of the format.

You could save the audio as mono and burn a Data CD with about 160 minutes on it. You could reduce the sample rate (22.5Khz is plenty for voice) and get 320 minutes. You could save as MP3 at 32Kbps and get almost 64 hours on one disc. Note however that none of these options will be an Audio CD that you can play in a regular CD player.
