Grazie this has been mentioned in the firewire problems.
The PS or something just losses device control.
I have had it a few tiimes where the DV maachine is still recording and the PC is still PTT but ther eis no picture coming through. Same during large captures, the items disconnect foe some reason, have purchased new cables to see if that helps.

I dunno Grazie. Isn't this how we met some years ago? You haven't broke out the old Dell Inspiron I8x have ya?

I haven't seen this one. 'Course since I confess I'm not a big PTT guy anymore, but still archive to tape regularly and have never encountered this. Sounds more Windows/Firewire than Vegas. I'll be following. Darryl

Grobsie!

1 - No! No Dell this time. It's happenning on my ASUS P4 3.2ghtz 2gbRAM. This is straight duplication.

2 - PTT for Archiving straight back to DV. The PTTing to VHS, clients still wants VHS, is done at a further process NOT from Vegas.

3 - If it is f/w and/or Windoze then I aint a clue.

Regards,

Grazie

Can you replicate the problem with another camcorder? Darryl Grobsie :-)

It isn't a camcorder. It is a Panasonic Full Dv and miniDV deck. Is it you want me to do it again with my cammie?

Just trying to help eliminate the usual band of suspects. If it all works fine on the cammie and not the deck, then we might be able to narrow the possibilities. i.e., firewire probably ok, etc. Did this all work before - and what may have changed between now and then? D
